  6. PARAGON CONCEPTS' NISUS™ VOTED BEST MACINTOSH WORD PROCESSOR

  8. LONDON--November 1, 1989--The editors of MacUser U.K. today announced that
  9. Nisus™, developed and published by San Diego's Paragon Concepts, Inc., has
  10. taken top honors in the word processing division.  Voted "Best Word Processor,"
  11. Nisus outdistanced contenders like Microsoft® Word 4.0 and Write Now™, both
  12. products of software companies much larger than Paragon Concepts.

  14. According to Paragon president Jerzy Lewak, the award comes at a very good
  15. time.  "We're in the midst of a significant international market expansion, so
  16. it's gratifying to see the recognition that Nisus deserves.  I'm pleased that
  17. MacUser was able to evaluate the entries objectively and take a stand for
  18. quality. Nisus, especially version 2.0, demonstrates our commitment to produce
  19. a word processor that meets the needs of end users—now people have a product
  20. they like instead of one they use because they recognize the brand name."

  22. Nisus is most often singled out for its extensive search and replace
  23. capability, unlimited undos and integrated graphics. Marketed worldwide in
  24. English, it is also available in Korean and will soon be introduced in French,
  25. German and Dutch, Lewak said. He added that "it's full steam ahead" at Paragon
  26. for further refinements and new features.  Although no release date has been
  27. scheduled, work on a 1990 Nisus upgrade is underway.

  29. The 1989 awards (gold statuettes newly-commissioned by MacUser) were presented
  30. at a dinner ceremony in London marking the beginning of the MacUser U.K. show
  31. at Olympia. Judges included industry professionals and writers, and the MacUser
  32. editorial staff. This year's event is the third annual competition.
